Big close up (head shot only) is typically used in film when expressions are important. I think this type of close up used in the drawing will allow viewers to closely see the facial expressions of the character and imagine and create their own thoughts of what could be happening. The film still used to create this drawing was a moment during Bonnie and Clyde, where Bonnie appears to be feeling rejected and not understanding Clyde's lack of showing physical affection for her. A viewer may recognise the character of Bonnie Parker, or they may not, however they can create a scenario or may wonder why she appears the way she does.
