This image taken from the film Repulsion, shows Catherine Deneuve appearing as character Carol, a fragile and frigid young beauty, in a terrified state of madness, feeling an overwhelming paranoia, as she suffers from hallucinations of seduction and rape, and due to this becomes violent and hysterical. I have used the image of her appearing terrified as it shows her vulnerable and suspenseful side. A viewer might wonder what she has seen or what is happening to her.
